(Tuesday, July 4th, 2006) Racing from Underwood, we made it into Avoca in time to enjoy a little watermelon and shade before the parade. There is nothing better than watermelon, good friends and patch of shade in the grass on a beautiful summer afternoon. Except when there is a great parade in Avoca of course!

Once again our volunteers (waterlogged from watermelon, but undaunted in their task) were photographing the parade. Loren, his wife Tina and other volunteers passed out (more of an underhand throw really) icy treats along the parade route.

Special thanks go out to all of our friends who came out to see us, our volunteers, Avoca and that big patch of shade by the staging area.

Please note: We just want to take a moment to let you know that we realize not everyone in the photos are necessarily Knauss supporters (though we would love it if they were!). Our friends took a lot of pictures of the campaign, but also wanted to take pictures of some of the interesting people and floats along the way. We are happy to show you the photos we took, and appreciate the understanding of everyone pictured -- those who are our supporters, and other fine members of the community.
