Parade: Curbside Camera

These pictures are from a stationary camera shooting the floats as they came by. Almost every float is represented here and they are in parade order. If you were sitting on the curb at the parade, this is what you would likely have seen.

Parade: Roving Camera

These pictures are from a roving camera walking along the parade route and are not entirely in order. Since the parade ran in a loop and our photographer was in the center greenspace you'll find some floats pictured both at the start and end of this set.

(Saturday, August 5th, 2006) Though our parade crew came prepared for rain, we sidestepped the showers that had been following us through Pottawattamie county all morning. The only water we saw during the parade were a few sprinkles and a water cannon on the back of the Tangier Keystone Kops truck.

This time around our intrepid crew unveiled a new float built just in time for the Carson parade. In the escalating war of little-red-wagon design our new Monster Radio Flyer has reached the pinnacle of absurd garage tinkering. Complete with tires from a '96 Chevy Caprice (we'll want those back!) and all manner of improvised goodness, we're pretty sure the only thing left to do in the little-red-wagon arena is rocket packs (next year guys?).

Once again two volunteers photographed the parade. Loren, his wife Tina and other volunteers passed out (more of a throw really) icy treats along the parade route.

Special thanks go out to all of our friends who came out to see us, our volunteers, and the great crowd in Carson.

If you weren't able to talk with us during the parade, you can always send us an E-mail of support, volunteer, or put up a sign on your lawn. We're always grateful for the support.

Please note: We just want to take a moment to let you know that we realize not everyone in the photos are necessarily Knauss supporters (though we would love it if they were!). Our friends took a lot of pictures of the campaign, but also wanted to take pictures of some of the interesting people and floats along the way. We are happy to show you the photos we took, and appreciate the understanding of everyone pictured -- those who are our supporters, and other fine members of the community.
