The 2006 Celebrate Council Bluffs Parade (formerly the Pride Parade) was Saturday, May 20th. After a few sprinkles around 10 A.M. the rain cleared up and we all thought we had a shot at a dry parade. It turns out the weather was waiting for the parade to start to make an appearance. After about 15 minutes into the parade it started to sprinkle again, then rain, then pour. Everyone still had fun though, and as the crowd made for shelter under umbrellas and doorways we splashed along the parade route. We're thinking the rain was there to water the grass on our floats, which incidentally is quite a healthy green now. The rain continued through the end of the parade and then cleared just as the street sweepers closed the event.

We know all of our supporters can't make it to every event, so our sopping wet volunteers dodged the raindrops to take pictures for you. Special thanks go out to all of our friends who came out to see us, and our aquatic parade route volunteers.

Please note: We just want to take a moment to let you know that we realize not everyone in the photos are necessarily Knauss supporters (though we would love it if they were!). Our friends took a lot of pictures of the campaign, but also wanted to take pictures of some of the interesting people and floats along the way.
